I was so inspired by both of my daughter’s progress, but I was very reluctant to take a picture of myself in a bikini. I almost let the fear of me…at 49…in a bikini…stop me! Now 3 months later— I am so happy I actually took the photos! The transformation I feel working with The Herd is amazing! Not only is my body transforming, but also my energy and mindset.
Alex taught me how to properly feed and fuel my body. He helped me realize which foods work best for my body. The inflammation I felt in my body for years is decreasing. I have energy to re build my strength and stamina. Alex brings motivation, humor, and a healthy attitude of reality each week during my check-ins. He motivates me to believe in myself and actually get to the gym. I feel more confident in my body! And I am so excited to enjoy an active life with my kids and grandkids!

Before training with Alex, I truly didn’t know what “working hard” was at the gym and how hard I should push my body. I also had absolute no knowledge of fueling my body correctly. I wasn’t eating good food to truly fuel my body and grow my strength. I reached out to Alex for some guidance and he set me up with a whole meal and workout plan. At first I thought it was a little crazy… but seriously trust the process. Alex showed me how I needed to properly fuel my body. To help a tiny gal like me find what works best for my body was cool to see. I saw my strength increase, my confidence increase, and knowledge of pushing yourself to do your best. It wasn’t an easy process but Alex was there to reassure and send some reality- you reap what you sow. Alex has shown my guidance and strength to get through my time with him. The changes I’ve made with Alex’s help are incredible. Alex is personable, really puts a lot of thought and care into the protocols he’s given me. I always appreciate his more in depth approach explaining to me why we’re doing the things we do. I’ve never been with a coach that’s cared so much about the big picture and really hears me out on my long term/ short term goals. He has me eating more nutrient dense foods than I probably ever have before and I’m more conscious about my decisions. Just eating more adequately in general as I learned through working with him how badly I was under-eating before and that was not serving my goals. I’m never treated like just a number- he’s taken the time to get to know me as well as encourage me along the way. He’s changed my perspective on nutrition- whereas before I was just picking things to hit a certain amount of macros. (So glad we don’t track macros anymore!!) I’ve also learned how to make better decisions when eating meals out.
He’s always made himself available to answer questions, never made me feel ashamed or guilty for asking. It’s also been fun to get strong in the gym and improve on my lifts. I’ve become more aware of what training to failure looks and feels like.

I was introduced to Alex about a year ago now from a friend of mine who was being coached by him. At that time, I felt like I was making no progress, despite thinking I was doing everything right. Within my first few weeks with Alex as my coach I had learned more than I had ever known about nutrition, training, and hormones. He gives so much more than just a simple training and nutrition plan. Each week we would make any necessary changes to nutrition and training on the basis of weight, picture progress, gym progress, lifestyle stressors, goals and all the way down to our bloodwork. He has always been a simple text away when I had questions or needed help during the week. This showed me the love Alex has for this sport and the love he has for his clients. He has forever changed the way I train, and more than that has given me confidence I never knew I would have.
